KOLKATA : Actor Nigel Akara’s wife Moumita, who is also a medical practitioner by profession, is overjoyed by the recognition. She says this feat will inspire her to write more.  

Talking about the book, Moumita said that the story revolves around a man named Kuntal, who believes in extreme Left politics. He is a dreamer and believes that revolution will find its course in the country. In the end, the book talks about how revolution lives on beyond the life of any man and living beings.  

This is the first novel by the writer which was first published in a Puja magazine in 2015 and then as a book in 2016. “After that I have written three more novels and all of them have been published as individual books,” said Moumita.

Interestingly, all her books are based on different socioeconomic topics, with extreme Left politics being the predominant subject. When asked, the doctor-turned-writer said that she was first influenced by Left politics in her childhood. “I was an avid reader and my favourites were the different Soviet publications,” she added.  

When asked if she was a believer of extreme Leftism, the writer said that she wouldn’t call herself a communist, but she loves to dream. “I believe there will be a day when no one will go to sleep with an empty stomach. I like to dream and hope that good days are on their way. And yes, I believe in the communist system,” she said.
