Mamta vs center again? Bengal representation rejected for 26 January parade

As soon as the new year comes, preparations for the Republic Day have started. A total of 56 proposals were sent to the central government this time for the tableau shown in the Republic Day parade by the states, ministries. These included the proposal of the West Bengal government, but the Central Government has rejected the proposal of the tableau of Bengal. On many issues, there is a rift between the government of Bengal and the central government, in which case this issue can once again spark a new debate between the two.

On the occasion of Republic Day, a number of tableaux emerge on the Rajpath, in which the state, union territories and central ministries are present. A total of 22 tableaux will be shown in this year´s parade. There will be 16 states-Union Territory and 6 Union Ministries. A total of 56 tableaux were proposed to the Ministry of Defense for the parade.

In a statement issued by the ministry, it said that there were about five rounds of meetings regarding tableaux, in which it has been decided that a total of 22 proposals were approved.

According to the agency´s news, the proposal of the West Bengal government was canceled by the committee of the ministry. According to the statement, the proposal of the tableau from the West Bengal government was not taken forward after the second meeting, the decision was taken by the expert committee. He said that under the same procedure that is being implemented in 2020, the tableau of Bengal was also approved in 2019.
