Doctors discharged Former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee

KOLKATA: Former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is back home. Doctors at Woodlands Hospital discharged him on Monday afternoon after going through his health reports. Bhattacharjee had been admitted to the hospital on Friday night with acute respiratory problem and very low (70/50) blood pressure. According to doctors, the former CM is stable now. His blood pressure, heart rate and sodiumpotassium levels are stable.

But he has to be on intravenous antibiotics and other supports such as bipap, oxygen, nebulisation and chest physiotherapy at home for some time. The former CM was given three units of blood as he had been suffering from anaemia.

CPM seniors wanted Bhattacharjee to stay at the hospital for a few more days. But the ailing leader was getting impatient and had been requesting doctors and his party colleagues Surjya Kanta Mishra and Md Salim to take him back to his Palm Avenue flat.
