Pak artists land in trouble

Dhanbad : The bureaucratic red-tapism proved to be the bless in disguise for two Pakistani artists who were detained by Dhanbad police on Monday on charges of not appearing before police on arrival.

The two took out time to get firsthand experience of Bollywood fame Waseeypur locality in Dhanbad.

“We had watched the movie several times but had never thought to visit Wasseypur.

Now since the police detained us we got chance to visit locality that was not in our schedule during this trip,” said Wazif Faruqi, music director and playback singer from Pakistan who was in Dhanbad to perform on invitation of students of Birsa Institute of Technology- Sindri.

Faruqi along with other Pakistani artist Sunny Ghanshyam, both residents of Karanchi, Pakistan while talking to media persons at Dhanbad police station said visiting Wasseypur was not scheduled but police action proved to be beneficial for them and they can now have close look to the notorious Wasseypur.

“We have seen the movie several times but never expected to visit Wasseypur,” said Faruqi.

Though they regretted that failed to participate in musical mega event scheduled on Tuesday night at Chandigarh.

“Nothing to worry as we got opportunity to look Dhanbad and Wasseypur closely,” said Faruqi expressing that people are warm and open hearted here.

According to the artists, they reached Dhanbad on Sunday morning from Sealdah Rajdhani express to attend a cultural event at BIT Sindri.

It is mandatory for all the foreign citizens to inform the district foreign department regarding their arrival, purpose of visit, departure etc. 

“Because of the two consecutive holidays here, we couldn’t report thus were detained by the police,” said Wazif .

While answering the queries of media persons the duo artists said, they are the fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Modi is not popular only in India but also in Pakistan too.

His commands respect among common man in Pakistan,” said Faruqi adding that he is one of the most powerful and admired Prime Ministers of any Asian country.

Sunny Ghanshyam said the two countries must  come together to make a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere for development .

“Our culture, tradition, art and music are common  thus strength for both the countries. He emphasized in  exchange our artists on regular intervals.
