According to the sources, the college in connivance university authority have given the civil work to a particular contractor by violating the norms.
“The university or college is empowered to do the departmental work but with a limit.
If any development work or renovation of building, purchasing of necessary items, above the budget of Rs 25000, expression of interest must be invited,” said Prof SK Agrawal, CCDC, VBU denying speaking more on the issue.

The contractor who did work in PK Roy College had also been awarded construction work at another college under VBU.
“Without the connivance of college university officials, it can’t possible that, a contractor worked at PK Roy Memorial College got work at SSLNT Women’s College,” said one of the senior teacher, raising question over the intentions of university top officials.
Similarly, a number of colleges across the university are trying to get undue benefit on the name of development work for NAAC accreditation.
“NAAC now become the means for minting money to the college university officials,” said Shashi Yadav, President Yuwa Chhatra Jagran Manch.
It is worth mentioning here that, NAAC is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country.
It is an outcome of the recommendations of the National Policy in Education (1986) which laid special emphasis on upholding the quality of higher education in India.
