KOLKATA : BJP leader Mukul Roy said two stages were being prepared at Churabhandar for PM Modi, in the district’s Maynaguri block on Friday.

“As PM, he will make announcements that the people of north Bengal have been awaiting for decades. Then he will mount the second podium from where he will address the public meeting,” Roy said.

Roy hinted that Modi may speak on setting up a Calcutta High Court circuit bench in Jalpaiguri, which north Bengal’s people have been demanding for six decades.

About the Lok Sabha election, Roy expressed hope that BJP would perform well in the eight north Bengal seats. “Trinamool will lose most of the eight seats,” he said.
