KOLKATA : The IIT-Roorkee team had come to Kolkata to collect elementary evidence of the market building. After an IIT-Roorkee team completed its survey and sample collection from the gutted section of the Bagri Market, KMC buildings department officials said approval for reconstruction of damaged section may take some more time.
A Kolkata Municipal Corporation building department official on Thursday said the Roorkee team had talks with KMC officials on the restoration plans of the gutted part of Bagri Market. “We were told the team would give a guideline for the reconstruction process only after testing the evidence at the laboratory. Based on the suggestion of the Roorkee team, the Bagri traders will engage a construction firm for the reconstruction,” said a KMC building department official.
