Four sentenced for life in Gang rape case

Dhanbad : 4 criminals were sentenced for life with a penalty of ten thousand rupees under 376 (2) (G) of IPC, on Thursday by court of ADJ 7, Satyaprakash in connection with a case of gang rape. In verdict of court the penalty amount would be paid to Victim Abhilasha Devi.

Acccording to the prosecution, six people Raju Yadav, Mukesh Yadav, Pappu Yadav, Arun Yadav, Virendra Yadav and Rajesh Yadav were involved in the crime. Case of Virendra Yadav is under trial in Juvenile court and Rajesh Yadav has been declared absconding.

Additional Public Prosecutor, Anil Kumar Jha said that, Abhilasha arrived at Dhanbad station by Maurya Express in the midnight of 13th October and hired an auto rickshaw to reach her residence which is in Nutandih, Saraidhela. The driver took her to Dhangi Jungle where he and his friends raped her. Jha said that the criminals have been convicted on the basis of 10 witnesses and penalty amount would be given to the victim.
