Police recovered detonators and other explosives from Baliapur

Dhanbad : Police on Wednesday evening recovered a cache of detonators and other explosives from Baliapur area, under Baliapur police station; around 15 kilometers from the district headquarter.

The recovery was made by a special team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dhanbad Amit Kumar.

DSP while confirming the report said, 739 electrical and non-electrical detonators along with along more than 100 gelatin sticks, electric wires, and other explosive supporting elements were recovered.

Police also arrested two men including Mohammad Muslim and Mohammad Afzal alias Saif, residents of Baliapur.

"An FIR under the Explosives Act has been registered with Baliapur police station, so that a formal forensic examination of the detonator recovered from their possession could be initiated," said DSP adding that nefarious intention may be behind the cache.
