Burglary in BOI Mugma

Dhanbad : A Group of miscreants, on Sunday night barged into the Mugma branch of Bank of India under Nirsa Police station and looted jewelries and valuables worth lakhs of rupees by breaking the lockers.

The incident came into notice only after the bank was opened at 11 AM on Monday.

The miscreants barged into the branch from rear side of the bank by making a big hole in the wall.

According to police, after entering the bank they snapped the wires of siren and closed circuit television camera (CCTV).

They tried cutting the strong room but failed however they managed to break 10 lockers using gas cutters and fled with all the jewelries belonging to general public.

Police said that a similar attempt was made four years back when the police advised bank authorities to deploy a dedicated security guard which the management ignored at that point of time.

Officer In-charge of Nirsa Police Station, Ram Pravesh Singh said “we are investigating the matter and let the media know as soon as possible”
