Pandemonium mark RTE meet

Dhanbad : Pandemonium marked the daylong meeting called by the district administration on Saturday for implementation of Free and Compulsory Right to Education (RTE) act-2009 in schools at collectoriate meeting hall.

The representatives from private schools lost their patience and uttered un-parliamentary language during the meeting with the officers of district administration and parent’s body led Additional District Magistrate (ADM) BPL Das.

Besides, Sub-divisional Majistrate, District Transport Officer, District Superintendent of Education along with other officials of education department were present in the meeting.

Ranvijay Singh, President, Jharkhand Abhibhawak Mahasangha (JAM) regretted the way school representatives behaved.

“It’s unfortunate that these men have given the responsibility to teach the moral values, who even don’t know how to behave,” said Singh expressing concern on mistreat done by school’s representatives.

District Superintendent of Education (DSE) BB Singh, ensuring proper implementations of RTE in private schools said, the schools will have to follow all the norms and guidelines of state government.

“There is no unaided and minority schools in the district.

All the schools come under RTE and they are bound to follow the rules and norms under RTE,” said Singh while warning those schools claiming themselves minority institutions.

According to DSE, the schools including CBSE and ICSE have been asked to get affiliation from district education department by April 15 and ensure 25 percent admissions of children from unprivileged society of their areas.

“The arbitrary policies of the private schools have emerged as a big problem as it causes frequent violation of RTE,” said DSE hinting tough action against schools found violating the norms.

It bears to recall that, a delegation of Parents under the banner of Jharkhand Abhibhawak Mahasangha (JAM) had met to the deputy commissioner of Dhanbad on March 12 and urged him to ensure the proper implementation of the RTE.

Deputy commissioner Kripanand Jha on the basis of parent’s complaint initiated action and had called a meeting of all the private schools.
