BCCL raises eyebrow to DAV, DPS

Dhanbad : Annoyed from the indifferent attitude of the aided schools, coal company Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has issued a warning to school managements to follow the admission policies as per Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) with the company.

BCCL administration taking drastic action asked the schools to follow the MoU or ready to face the action.

BCCL also directed their officer to look into the matter and report the administration within one week of the issuance of the letter.

However, the schools are yet to get the official letter. “We have received directive from SMS regarding the admission of BCCL employee’s wards,” said KB Bhargava principal Delhi Public School (DPS) Dhanbad.

Admitting the violation of MoU, Bhargava said, it was difficult to follow as after opting lottery system for screening the applications, it is impossible to ensure 80 percent admission of BCCL wards.

“It is difficult to ensure 80 percent admission as how can we categorize applicants in BCCL and non-BCCL,” said Bhargava.

According to the BCCL officials, BCCL has provided land as well as the infrastructure to the schools.

In the MoU, it is said that, the duo aided schools have to ensure 80 percent admissions of BCCL officers and employees as well as Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) but both the schools are violating the agreements.

“Schools are taking more admissions of the outsiders instead of BCCL and CISF wards,” said Shekhar Sood, Welfare Manager, BCCL.

Adding further Sood said, the duo schools were violating the MoU and refuses to comply with the company’s directives.

“BCCL has provided them a better infrastructure to run the institution while the school managements had been asked to provide education to the officers and employees children. But now these schools are found violating the MoU,” said Sood.
